I cannot recommend the stage production of Photograph 51 more highly. It is not only a piece of brilliant acting and a staggering performance from Nicole Kidman but it is a play that portrays a life changing event in our history. A classic revival about a scientific injustice which took place in the 1950’s. The play tells the true story of Rosalind Franklin and her role in the discovery of the DNA double helix structure, one of the most important scientific breakthroughs of the 20th century. I was mesmerized by Kidman’s performance and her ability to totally immerse herself in such a complex character. Try and get tickets to see this if it’s the only thing you do when you are in London.
